Nassau, The Bahamas, September 27, 2025 – Colina Insurance Limited serves as a bronze sponsor of the Chickcharney Challenge, a longstanding endurance event that draws participants from across the island.

The Chickcharney Challenge raises awareness about prostate cancer, highlighting the importance of early detection and screenings. Colina’s Chief Operating Officer, Marcus Bosland, commends the organizers for bringing attention to this important health issue.

“Men need to hear these messages more,” explains Bosland. “Sometimes men spend too much time focusing on work and other responsibilities and neglect their own health,” he continues. “Stigmas remain around ill health, and there is still work to do to address these challenges.”

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Chickcharney Challenge, a milestone reflected in both the scale of the event and the significance of its cause. Colina’s Chief Executive Officer, Chester Robards, highlights the ongoing health challenges faced by many men, including proper nutrition, self-care, and attending regular medical checkups.

“September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, making it the perfect time for us to take on this initiative,” says Robards, CEO of the Chickcharney Challenge. “Many men still face stigma around the illness, and we are engaging the public through our partner, Dr. Dontae Jacobs, who explained what men can expect from prostate cancer screenings.”

Through its participation in the Chickcharney Challenge, Colina helps promote health and wellness in the community. The excitement is contagious, according to Maxine V. Seymour, Director of Corporate Communications.

“This morning, we turned into cheerleaders for Team Colina, who conquered the courses with precision and ease,” says Seymour. “They made it look like so much fun that next year I may try my hand at completing the course.”

The Chickcharney Challenge features an obstacle course with more than 12 challenges over three miles, including new additions such as a 12-foot warped wall, the water balance, laser shooting, and the cliffhanger wall. The event also includes a 1.5K children’s run for ages three to seven, a “LITE” course for first-time participants featuring ten selected obstacles, and a tour-de-course with the course designers. Fan-favorite challenges such as the axe throw and spear throw return as well. Proceeds from the event support Dr. Dontae Jacobs in expanding access to prostate cancer screenings for Bahamian men.
