Colina Celebrates Team Members Recognized at BIA Awards Ceremony
Nassau, The Bahamas, February 26, 2026 – Several Colina Insurance Limited (Colina) team members were recently honoured at The Bahamas Insurance Association (BIA) Awards Ceremony and Reception, held under the theme “Beyond 50: Securing the Future.”
The annual event highlights the commitment of industry professionals to continued education and excellence through the attainment of globally recognized insurance designations.









Colina was well represented across multiple certification levels. Fifteen team members earned the FLMI Level 1 Certificate, including Nakayla Adderley, Richeka Brown, Natasha Burrows, Apryl Cleare, Marvia Curtis, Mark Darling, Cameron Dean, Garneshia Lightbourn, Donya Martin, Alban Smith, Latonya Smith, Zavier Smith, Machara Tucker, Ashley Williams and Jasmine Williams. This foundational certification equips recipients with core knowledge of life insurance principles, operations and customer service.
Timaria Bain was recognized for achieving the Certificate in Regulatory Compliance Essentials (RCert). This certification strengthens understanding of regulatory frameworks and supports effective compliance within the insurance environment.
Three team members earned the Associate, Customer Service (ACS) designation. Linique Gibson, Rubenique Major and Serena Maycock now have enhanced skills in delivering high-quality customer experiences and managing client relationships effectively.
The Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI) designation was awarded to Cordescia Bastian, Grofferina Bowe, Berdinell Evans, Linique Gibson, Danielle Rolle-Walkine and Ashley Thompson. This programme provides a deeper understanding of insurance operations, risk management and industry best practices.
Nyoshi Ward and Denice Major attained the Associate, Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC) designation. This credential builds expertise in compliance, governance and ethical standards within the insurance sector.
The prestigious Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation was awarded to Michelle Cartwright, Sametri Dean and Rishea Gibson, along with Susan Pennerman of Colina General Insurance Agents & Brokers Limited. This advanced designation signifies comprehensive industry knowledge, leadership capability and a strong commitment to professional excellence.
