BIA Honours CEO Emanuel M. Alexiou at 50th Anniversary Banquet
Nassau, The Bahamas, October 18, 2025 – Colina’s Chief Executive Officer, Emanuel M. Alexiou, was among nine distinguished industry professionals recognized by The Bahamas Insurance Association (BIA), during its 50th Anniversary Banquet.
“Mr. Alexiou’s recognition is well deserved,” said Maxine Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “He believes in The Bahamas and in Bahamians and has helped transform the industry over the past two plus decades, opening doors for Bahamian professionals, who are now fully equipped to manage and operate all aspects of the insurance business right here at home.”

Former Colina Sales Representative the late Gregory Bonamy (posthumously), Dashwell E. Flowers, Yvette Ingraham, Emmanuel Komolafe, Cardinal McCardy, Bede Derek Sands, Anton Sealey and Patrick Ward were recognized, in addition to Emanuel M. Alexiou.







BIA’s Chairman, Julian Rolle highlighted the resilience of the association, “[we] have evolved, adapted and endured through economic shifts and regulatory changes, natural disasters and even a global pandemic, and yet through it all our association has remained strong and steadfast.”
“This evening, we recognize a distinguished group of honourees whose careers reflect the very essence of what this fiftieth anniversary stands for,” said Rolle. “Mr. Emanuel Alexiou [is] a visionary entrepreneur and leader whose business acumen and influence have strengthened the financial and insurance sectors across The Bahamas.”
The Honourable Philip Edward Davis, KC, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance attended the event and praised The BIA’s 50-year legacy, honouring its founders and current members for their service, integrity, and commitment to building a stronger, more resilient Bahamas.
“The story of this association is not separate from the story of The Bahamas – it is a chapter within it,” said Davis. “It tells of a people who turned belief into discipline, discipline into structure, and structure into strength. You have shown that the Bahamians can build industries at last. You have shown that we can lead with competence and compassion. You have shown that the promise of independence is not failing, but flourishing.”

The BIA 50th Anniversary Banquet took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Margaritaville Beach Resort, Nassau, bringing together industry leaders, to celebrate five decades of excellence.
