Colina donates talking watches to honor roll students at Erin H. Gilmour School for the Blind and Visually Impaired
Nassau, The Bahamas, May 28, 2026 – Colina Insurance Limited recently donated several talking watches to honor roll students at the Erin H. Gilmour School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The presentation occurred during the school’s honor roll ceremony on May 28, 2026 at the Salvation Army Nassau Citadel Corps on Mackey Street.
Talking watches are designed to audibly announce the time, date, and day of the week at the press of a button, and are used by individuals with visual challenges.

“We love giving back and helping our community, and we hope that these talking watches will keep the students on time,” said Maxine Seymour, director of corporate communications at Colina Insurance Limited, during the honor roll ceremony.
This year’s honor roll ceremony was held under the theme: “From the Classroom to the Road: A Junkanoo Rake n’ Scrape Celebration of Excellence”. The ceremony featured a performance of “Get Involved” by the Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band, a musical selection performed by students Quintino Barr and Khemar Davis, a poetry reading by student Kamall Forbes, a Scripture reading by student Khemar Davis, and a Junkanoo rushout organized by the students.
Quintino Barr, with a 3.83 grade point average (GPA); Kamall Forbes (3.67 GPA), and Khemar Davis (3.53 GPA), were honored on the Principal’s List.
Students Aaron Brown (3.45 GPA), Kylan Cartwright (3.38 GPA), Kaliah Taylor (3.29 GPA), and Macken Louis (3.20 GPA) were honored on the Honor Roll.
The donation by Colina is part of an ongoing relationship the company has with the school. During a previous honor roll assembly, Colina donated mobile phones to the students.
Last summer, a plethora of activities were organized by Colina team members to educate and entertain the students, including weekly field trips to places of interest such as the Adventure Learning Centre, and the TERN Art Gallery at Island House, as well as outings to Fusion Superplex to watch a movie.
