New Providence, The Bahamas, January 20, 2026 – The unveiling of Colina Insurance Limited’s 2026 calendar, entitled Hidden Heroes, celebrated individuals with varying disabilities whose strength and lived experiences continue to inspire and uplift their communities.

The calendar highlights persons living with visual impairments, deafness, the effects of polio, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and limb differences. Through powerful imagery, Hidden Heroes places emphasis on ability and representation.

Speaking on the experience of developing the calendar, Colina’s Director of Corporate Communications, Maxine V. Seymour, reflected on the impact of connecting directly with the featured individuals and their families.

“As a team, spending time with these individuals and learning about their experiences gave us a deeper appreciation for the quiet strength and determination that often goes unseen,” Seymour said. “Having the chance to talk with their family members gave us even more insight into their lives and the daily struggles they face.”

Seymour also spoke to the broader message behind the Hidden Heroes calendar and the perspective it encourages.

“Hidden Heroes reminds us that strength does not always look the way we expect it to,” she added. “It invites us to pause, reflect, and look beyond first impressions.”

Also addressing attendees was Erin Brown, Disability Consultant and Para-Athlete, who underscored the importance of meaningful inclusion and representation.

“Inclusion is not charity,” Brown said. “Colina, we honour your representation through this calendar to uplift communities, influence policies, and strengthen the Bahamian collective in its commitment to accessibility for all.”

For years, Colina has partnered with local Bahamian photographers and artists to produce custom calendars as a community initiative. The indigenously themed calendars have taken an extensive look at various aspects of Bahamian society over the years.
