Nassau, The Bahamas, February 22, 2026 – Platinum partner, Colina Insurance Limited, joined attendees at the 60th Annual Heart Ball on Saturday past, in aid of the Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation.

“The ball is about coming together to give youngsters living with congenital heart defects the chance for a healthier, brighter future, and seeing so many people unite for this cause is quite encouraging,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director of Corporate Communications at Colina.

She noted that the longevity of the event speaks to the sustained generosity of corporate sponsors and individual donors who have kept the mission alive for six decades. “Colina is proud to stand alongside the Foundation in its most noble mission for another consecutive year,” she added.

The Lady Sassoon Golden Heart Award at this year’s event was presented to Dr. Sandra Dean-Patterson, Executive Director of The Bahamas Crisis Centre.

“I cannot think of anyone more deserving,” said Seymour. “Kudos to Dr. Dean-Patterson for her tireless work with survivors of violence and abuse. She has touched so many lives and brought hope to people in their time of despair.”

Since its inception, the Heart Ball has played a critical role in funding cardiac screenings, overseas surgical procedures and post-operative care for young patients whose families might otherwise be unable to access specialised treatment.

Seymour emphasised the collaboration between the Walk-In Clinic and Colina at the evening’s gala, underscoring that their joint efforts reflect a shared dedication to advancing the health and wellbeing of individuals throughout the country. “It’s a pleasure to team up with a likeminded entity.”

Themed ‘Jubilee Celebration: Your gifts, their heartbeats’, the 2026 ball was held at Baha Mar Convention Center, Cable Beach, on Saturday, February 21. Funds raised aid the Foundation’s work of providing access to life-saving cardiac care for children in The Bahamas.
