Remembering Gregory Bonamy

Nassau, The Bahamas, September 4, 2025 – Colina employees recently held a memorial to pay tribute to fallen colleague, Gregory Bonamy, MDRT Lifetime Member and veteran Sales Representative, who passed away recently. The event brought together colleagues, family, friends, and community leaders to celebrate his life and legacy.

Greg, as he was affectionately called by colleagues, joined Colina in May 1982 and dedicated more than four decades of service to the company and its clients. He was widely regarded as a consummate professional, known for his dedication, work ethic, and positive spirit. His colleagues remembered him as selfless and kind-hearted, always willing to lend a helping hand and invest in the success of others.

The program was guided by Master of Ceremonies, C. Kino McCartney, Branch Manager, and opened with a prayer from James Seymour, Sales Representative. Remarks and tributes followed from Marcus Bosland, Chief Operating Officer; Deandra Lewis, Vice President, Life Operations & Sales; Elrod Outten, Director of Sales; Anthony “Tiger” Longley, Sales Representative; Carmen Major, Sales Representative and Bridgette Sands, Sales Representative. Each colleague consistently highlighted Greg’s unwavering commitment to the company, his clients, and his community while sharing personal stories of special encounters. Branch Manager, Wayne Miller closed the service in prayer.

Reflecting on her personal relationship with the Bonamy family from childhood, Deandra Lewis described Greg as a provider, who took care of his family and ensured that they had the best.

Professionally, she said “Greg’s photograph displayed on Colina’s Wall of Fame in the foyer at this J Whitney Pinder building stands as testament to his legacy and status among the top agents of all time.”

“I recently met Greg in person, and we shared fond memories of his time in the industry, projects he was excited about, and his hopes and dreams for Ramon.”

“Syl, Ramon, Kimmy, his extended family and friends, I extend my sincere condolences to you,” Lewis said.

The memorial also featured reflections from Belinda Wilson, President of The Bahamas Union of Teachers who reflected on working alongside Greg years ago to implement insurance coverage for union members. Reverend Dr. Philip Stubbs, Minister at St. Michael’s Methodist Church, delivered a sobering message to the family rooted in scripture. The service concluded with remarks and expressions of gratitude from his son, Ramon Gregory Bonamy.

Colina extends its deepest condolences to the Bonamy family and joins them in remembering a colleague who will be deeply missed but whose legacy will remain. Greg will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but for the warmth and kindness he shared with everyone he encountered.
