Nassau, The Bahamas, April 12, 2025 – The Bahamas Insurance Association (BIA) recently held its annual Family Fun and Fitness Day bringing together insurance companies from across the nation for a spirited day of friendly competition and camaraderie.

In the weeks leading up to the event, Colina’s basketball and volleyball teams dedicated themselves to training hard, striking a balance between work and wellness as they prepared to represent Colina on game day. The atmosphere was charged with energy and excitement, with cheers and encouragement echoing from the sidelines.

Team Colina came out swinging, bringing their enthusiasm and spirit to both the volleyball and basketball tournaments. While they did not secure a spot in volleyball, their hard work and collaboration paid off on the basketball court, where they proudly snagged the second-place spot. The courts radiated with teamwork as they battled their way, coming close to victory, showcasing the heart and determination that define Colina.

“It was a proud moment to lead our teams into competition,” shared Frank Ellis, Facilities Manager at Colina and team captain. “We gave it our all and left everything we had on the court,” said Ellis.

Throughout the games, both teams made a conscious effort to keep morale high, no matter what the scoreboard said. With plenty of high fives and encouraging words, Ellis remarked, “The preparation and teamwork truly showcased the spirit of Colina.”

Team Colina remains motivated and optimistic. With their sights already set on next year’s showdown, the squad is determined to return stronger and more focused.

The event was held on Saturday, April 12, at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium.
