Colina says thank you to its customers

Insurer hosts Colina Customer Appreciation 2026 in New Providence, Exuma, Abaco and Grand Bahama

Colina Insurance Limited, in a show of gratitude and appreciation to its customers, hosted Customer Appreciation 2026 events across The Bahamas on Friday and Saturday. The family-friendly functions combined information-sharing booths featuring various departments at Colina and sister companies Colina General Insurance Agency & Brokers Limited, Indigo Insurance (Bahamas) Limited, Colina Financial Advisors Ltd. and Walk-In Clinic, with tokens of appreciation, free food and prizes for attendees, including a grand prize, a big screen TV.

“Colina is very committed to its customers. We exist to serve them and it’s important for us to say thank you,” said DeAndrea Lewis, vice president, life operations at Colina, during the company’s festivities in New Providence.

Events were hosted in Exuma on Friday, July 3, at the company’s Turnquest Star Centre branch; and on Saturday, July 4, at Colina’s 308 East Bay Street headquarters; at its East Mall Drive and Poinciana Drive branch in Grand Bahama, and at its Flamingo Plaza, Don McKay Boulevard location in Abaco.

“Colina has always had a customer appreciation day. In the past, it was in December, and we used it as a part of our Christmas giveaway promotion,” said Lewis.

“It was held during the week, and of course not everybody is able to leave work to come to Colina. So, two years ago, we decided to move it to a Saturday, which would be more accessible for more of our clients.”

Residents turned out in large numbers to soak up the festivities, including opportunities to converse with Colina customer service representatives and salespeople, and to be guided through the enrollment process for the company’s digital policy owner portal.

“We want to make it seamless for our customers to enroll in the portal. We want our customers to take more ownership of their policies and manage them the way they want to. Clients can sign up to the portal and see their paid states, their policy values, and see exactly what is happening with their policies. If they need to submit a health claim, they can do it online as well,” said Lewis.

Marcus Bosland, Colina’s chief operating officer, said the customer appreciation events are a wonderful opportunity for Colina to let its clients know how much the company values them.

“Insurance is an intangible service; it’s about giving clients peace of mind. We work very diligently to provide the absolute best service that we possibly can, in terms that our clients appreciate. It’s important to let our clients know that we really value their business.”

He continued: “People like to do business with people who care about them, and we sincerely do. We believe that insurance makes a difference in people’s lives. It’s really important to get the message out that insurance is important, it is needed, and it is valuable.”

According to Maxine Seymour, director of corporate communications at Colina, Customer Appreciation 2026 is the result of months of preparation by employees across the organization, who partnered to create a meaningful experience for clients in New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Exuma.

“As the flagship subsidiary of Colina Holdings Bahamas Limited, Colina is especially grateful to our sister companies, as well as the many vendors and community partners, for joining us in making this initiative possible. It is a wonderful example of organizations collaborating to give back to the people and communities we proudly serve.

“We do not take our clients for granted, and we will continue to earn their trust each and every day.”

Seymour noted that for generations, Colina’s clients have trusted the insurer through life’s biggest moments, and Customer Appreciation 2026 is an opportunity for the company to pause and simply say, “Thank you.”
